Origin Merchant Partners is pleased to announce that Cathy Steiner has joined as a Principal, leading Origin’s Healthcare practice.
Cathy Steiner brings over 20 years of experience as a trusted advisor to management teams, boards of directors and investors. She has worked closely with healthcare and growth companies to raise public and private capital and successfully execute strategic transactions. Cathy held the role of CFO for a technology company raising financing and transitioning to a public company on two occasions. For over a decade prior to that, Cathy was Managing Director for Nucleus GC, a boutique healthcare advisory firm adding meaningful value for clients on financings, strategic transactions, as well as product development, commercialization, product positioning and launch. For nearly ten years prior to that, Cathy led Healthcare Investment Banking for CIBC World Markets and Yorkton Securities. She has worked with many diverse healthcare clients: public and private, at all stages of development, and across all subsectors including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare information technology and healthcare services.
Cathy holds a MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University, an MSc in Immunology from McMaster University and earned her CPA, CA designation while working at Deloitte. She has contributed to her field as a volunteer advisor for the healthcare practice at MaRS Discovery District and as an occasional lecturer for the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.
